Aircraft Systems Technician Career Overview
An Aircraft Systems Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing the various systems on an aircraft, including hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and environmental control systems. They ensure that all systems function properly, adhering to strict safety, regulatory, and performance standards set by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) or other governing bodies. Key Responsibilities:
- Inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot aircraft systems such as hydraulics, avionics, electrical systems, pneumatics, and environmental controls.
- Diagnose and resolve system malfunctions, replacing or repairing faulty components.
- Use diagnostic tools and testing equipment to analyze system performance and identify issues.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

- Proficiency in system troubleshooting and diagnostics, using tools like multimeters, oscilloscopes, and pressure gauges.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- FAA certification (A&P License) or other relevant technical certifications for aircraft systems maintenance.
- Ability to work in high-pressure environments and solve complex technical problems quickly and efficiently.
